Disrupting Mediocrity, Applying an Intervention Framework to Improve our Practice
This colloquium will introduce a structured intervention framework designed to help educators and service providers move beyond “good enough” practices and toward more effective, data-driven approaches. The presenters will outline a four-phase process—assessment and goal-setting, design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and ongoing refinement—to guide teams in improving outcomes for students and clients. Through practical examples and interactive tools, the session will demonstrate how this framework can be applied in educational and clinical settings to increase engagement, support skill development, and reduce challenging behaviors. Emphasis will be placed on reflective practice, collaborative problem-solving, and building sustainable systems of support. This presentation is intended for teachers, allied health professionals, behavior specialists, school administrators, and others committed to continuous improvement and impactful service delivery.
